The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is responsible for the commemoration of almost 1.7 million members of the Commonwealth forces who gave their lives in the two World Wars. In commemoration of the Battle of the Somme which lasted a total of 141 days the CWGC is working in association with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and the Royal British Legion (RBL) to develop a programme of events across the 141Days.
